Choosing and Arranging Your Wedding Flowers
One of the most important parts of a wedding, although often overshadows by more ‘important’ things are flowers. Imagine a wedding where there are no flower arrangements present. It just doesn’t exist. Each wedding has flower arranging as a distinctive yet integrated part of it.If you know how to make your own flower arrangements, that is great, however not all of us have the time to learn flower arranging. The next best thing to do before your upcoming wedding is to visit your local florist for ideas and even with the help of setting up your bridal flower arrangement. They can usually help you with choosing the right flowers, colors and arrangement style that goes perfectly with that wedding atmosphere.
Before going to the florist, have in mind the main idea you’d like to discuss with them. Have a small piece of fabric or something similar of the color of your dress. Describe them the room the wedding reception will take place. Color, ambient and all. Your florist will then get a pretty good idea of what is needed for the wedding and what flowers to use. Even if you don’t hire your florist for your wedding, you can always ask them for their professional opinion on it. They will be glad to give it to you.
Some very important aspects of the flower chosen for the wedding are color and durability. The flowers need to be and stay fresh throughout the ceremony, starting from the day before. Nobody will enjoy looking at a bouquet that is wilted and sad, ready to be thrown away. You will need to have flowers all around and on you. Your headpiece, your corsages, your actual bouquets are all made with flowers, or at least flowers have an important part to play. So it is important for the flower to keep their freshness and life for a day or two at least before they start wilting away.
Once you know which flowers you will use for the wedding, decide on how many you will need. You need to order the flowers and foliage at least a week before the actual event. If your florist cannot help with the flower arranging, or you’re out of extra money, then you need to set aside one day before the wedding on designing and creating your arrangement. You need to have at least 2-3 other people with you to help.
When the wedding day comes, all you need is relax and enjoy your beautifully created flower arrangement, and smile when the people will congratulate on your beautiful flowers sitting next to or on your beautiful white dress.
